About Us
Healthy Food For All (HFFA) was initiated by local farmers in 2006 in partnership with Cornell Cooperative Extension, and in 2022 HFFA became a fiscally sponsored project of Cornell’s Center for Transformative Action, an independent 501(c)3 non profit based in Ithaca, NY.
We’re proud to be celebrating over 18 years of making fresh, quality produce accessible to low-income households in Ithaca and surrounding rural areas through Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) shares and educational resources. Now ending nutritional hunger for over 1,500 youth and adults every year, HFFA is revered as our community’s leading nutritional food security program that is providing a best practice model for communities nationwide.
HFFA’s value extends well beyond the short-term benefit of meeting immediate food needs for low-income households. Our CSA model creates a reliable and dignified way for community members to access locally grown fruits and vegetables grown mere miles from their home, year-after-year, at a price they can afford (SNAP/Food Stamps accepted).
And by fairly compensating farmers for growing fruits and vegetables for neighbors in need, HFFA invests over $200,000 every year in local organic and regenerative agriculture, in-turn bolstering farm viability and resiliency, and increasing our region’s capacity to sustainably grow good, clean nutritious food for the whole community.
HFFA’s farmers embrace their roles as environmental stewards and are working on our behalf to combat climate change, feed our community and heal our planet. Our farms use organic, biodynamic and regenerative practices—techniques that support soil health, protect and improve water quality, help draw down greenhouse gases and restore ecosystems while nurturing fertility and fortifying the harvest—even as pests and extreme weather conditions intensify.
By working together, we create opportunities for all community members to be nourished by our local bounty, including historically marginalized members that have been alienated from our region’s strong network of farms in our beautiful landscape.
Join your farmer-driven, neighbor funded initiative to end hunger and build local food sovereignty where every member has reliable and dignified access to quality, nutritious food, and farmers thrive as responsible stewards of our environment.
2024 Participating Farms: Buried Treasures Farm, Full Plate Farm Collective, Nook and Cranny Farm, Plowbreak Farm, Sweet Land Farm, TC3 Farm, Tree Gate Farm.
